Base pay range

$250,000.00/yr - $300,000.00/yr

Acre has partnered with a venture-backed developer of industrial decarbonization projects that leverages FOAK storage technologies to significantly curtail emissions and improve efficiency in large industrial plants. They provide a full end-to-end development solution covering the entire project lifecycle from conceptual design through startup.

Through deploying novel financing models, our client can unlock breakthrough economics for certain industrial energy applications and has carved out a strong niche in an inevitable and new technology domain. They are growing rapidly and are expanding their executive leadership team by hiring a Chief Commercial Officer to drive customer acquisition and scale development operations across North America.

Their Chief Commercial Officer will be responsible for:

  • Leading all commercial activities related to business and project development, sales & marketing, partnerships and strategy
  • Partnering closely with the Chief Executive Officer to develop and lead the execution of their go-to-market strategy across the Americas
  • Acquiring new customer and partner relationships across heavy and light industrials, and leading them through the full sales cycle
  • Building, scaling and leading their business, project development, sales and marketing teams
  • Traveling to industry events and conferences to build our clients brand presence and expand their network in market
  • Developing pricing, contract, and deal structures aligned with company objectives
  • Staying on top of regulatory trends and market signals to continuously inform strategy

Your qualifications consists of:

  • Bachelor's in engineering or business (MBA or advanced degree preferred) with 10-20 years' experience building a pipeline of new industrial or corporate customer opportunities, originating and closing complex deals
  • Experience working in early stage or growth stage startups is required, founding experience is preferred. We need someone with strong entrepreneurial aspirations who can thrive in the unknowns and ambiguity of a rapidly growing startup.
  • Demonstrated success and expertise in negotiating development agreements, power purchase agreements (PPAs), offtake contracts, Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) agreements, etc. We need a world-class commercial architect
  • Experience leading or supporting corporate and project financings, supporting investor due diligence and driving deals to a close
  • Intimate familiarity with electricity markets and industrial energy demands/dynamics
  • Strong rolodex within the heavy and light industrial and broader energy sectors
  • Experience managing a growing development team with a keen ability to organize, lead, mentor and motivate teams
