Job Description Summary

The SCADA Fulfillment Lead Engineer will be the resident expert for SCADA hardware and software implementation, configuration, and troubleshooting of wind farm auxiliary equipment. This person will also lead the execution of new wind farm projects as a mentor to project engineers on the team and as a technical point of contact for Wind Farm Engineering regarding SCADA tools, processes, and implementation. Additionally, they will manage efforts to improve, maintain, and create tools that enhance the quality and efficiency of SCADA and control software implementation. The Lead SCADA Fulfillment Engineer will help integrate and develop processes that meet business needs and drive resolution to customer issues.

The NAM Requisition Team works directly with customers, commercial teams, design engineers, field engineers, and other teams, serving as experts in project configuration, product installation, Wind SCADA, Wind Farm Control, and mechanical equipment for the balance of plant. We primarily support the order-to-remittance phase of new unit fulfillment, as well as modifications and uprates on installed turbines.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide support for network and control system issues by offering technical expertise during site installation & commissioning at new wind farms and assist project engineers in providing timely and accurate responses to customer inquiries.
  • Act as an engineering point of contact in customer meetings.
  • Review and clarify contractual requirements and translate them into product definitions.
  • Issue software specifically configured to meet customer requirements.
  • Create and develop project-specific engineering documentation.
  • Configure software & control parameters according to site requirements.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external and internal interfaces to ensure customer requirements are understood and met.
  • Lead initiatives for continuous improvement in tools and processes, including parameter development, control software management, legacy unit parameter management, and execution of modifications and upgrades.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or High School Diploma/GED with at least 10 years of significant experience in SCADA/Networking.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an engineering-related field.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% of the year.

Desired Characteristics

  • Advanced degree or certification.
  • Experience with equipment controls or SCADA control systems.
  • Strong collaborative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to provide technical presentations to peers and managers.
  • Knowledge of SQL, OPC, ODBC, MODBUS, networking protocols, and control software such as ControlST/MarkVIe.
  • Experience in power generation, renewable energy, and wind industry.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
  • Strong analytical skills, including root cause analysis.

The salary range for this position is $88,600 - $147,600 USD annually. The actual salary offered depends on experience, education, and location. This position is eligible for a performance bonus/variable incentive. The posting is expected to close on April 26th or thereafter.
