Position Overview:

As an Indirect Category Manager in the Geotextile and Geomembrane Industry at SOLMAX, you will oversee the procurement and management of all indirect materials and services supporting our operations. We seek an experienced professional with expertise in category management, negotiation, and market knowledge to optimize indirect spend categories and contribute to our success.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Category Management: Assist in designing, developing, and implementing comprehensive category strategies for all indirect spend categories, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  2. Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage supplier relationships across various indirect categories, focusing on cost efficiency, quality, and innovation.
  3. Negotiation: Use strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms, pricing, and contracts while maintaining quality standards.
  4. Contract Management: Manage contracts effectively, including redlining, editing, and negotiating terms to protect the business and ensure favorable outcomes.
  5. KPI Tracking: Establish reporting mechanisms to track savings and performance.
  6. Cost Optimization: Implement initiatives to reduce costs and improve processes for indirect categories.
  7. Market Analysis: Monitor industry trends, market conditions, and the competitive landscape related to indirect categories.
  8. Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate supply chain risks to ensure operational continuity.
  9. Quality Assurance: Collaborate to maintain and improve the quality and efficiency of services and materials.
  10. Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant regulatory and compliance requirements.

Reports to: Director of Procurement

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Finance, or relevant field

Experience:

  • Minimum 5+ years in indirect category management, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a proven record of successful agreements.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in supply chain software, Spend Analytics, Excel, Tableau, Power BI, and Microsoft Office.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills, with experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Commitment to ethical standards.
  • Experience with ERP platforms like Dynamics365, SAP, or AS400 is a plus.

This can be a remote position in GA, SC, or TN, with travel as needed to vendor sites and Solmax facilities.
