Position: Full-Time Staff Principal Civil Engineer

The Civil Engineer, Principal will lead a team of engineers and designers across multiple projects, ensuring alignment with design concepts and parameters with minimal oversight. This role demands strong technical leadership, multi-priority management, and a commitment to high-quality solutions. The role also provides front-line supervision and may support departmental operations and strategic initiatives.

Required Skills

• Subject matter expert in project proposals, execution, and procedures, with a full understanding of relevant zoning, wetlands, and agency requirements, as well as industry standards.
• Strong organizational skills for managing multiple projects within engineering, procurement, and construction contexts.
• Deep knowledge of civil engineering principles, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Bluebeam.

Additional Skills

• Oversee civil design execution, ensuring compliance and quality across projects.
• Manage proposals, scopes of work, planning, staffing, and scheduling.
• Supervise and mentor engineers and designers.
• Provide technical guidance for projects.
• Ensure design correctness and adherence to codes.
• Assist in strategic planning and resource management as needed.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS in Civil Engineering.
• 12+ years civil engineering experience, with at least 5 years in power or industrial facilities.
• NCEES accreditation preferred; PE and/or SE required.

Compensation & Benefits

The salary range is $136,400 - $204,600, based on experience and location. We offer competitive salaries and comprehensive benefits, including health coverage, life and disability insurance, paid parental leave, and voluntary benefits like pet insurance.

Physical & Mental Requirements

Must be able to perform physical tasks such as visual acuity, balancing, stooping, reaching, walking, climbing, and manual dexterity. Capable of reasoning, reading, writing, and communicating effectively. All functions may be performed at our office or worksite.
