Job Overview

Our Senior Electrical Project Engineer will oversee project management, technical engineering design, cost estimation, planning, and specifications for construction, reconditioning, or modification of existing systems and equipment. Responsibilities include defining project scope, selecting optimal engineering solutions, estimating costs, developing funding requests, and managing project execution and budgets throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead and manage engineering capital projects from conception to completion, ensuring scope, schedule, and budget adherence.
  2. Coordinate with internal and external engineering teams to prepare detailed drawings and specifications.
  3. Inspect construction activities to ensure compliance with requirements, quality, and safety standards.
  4. Troubleshoot equipment issues, gather data, and develop solutions.
  5. Analyze bids, review bid packages and equipment specifications, and make recommendations.
  6. Develop preliminary engineering details including feasibility, costs, and schedules.
  7. Supervise and coordinate contractor activities during construction.
  8. Monitor project budgets and report on project status.
  9. Design manufacturing layouts and explore options for process flow, product assembly, and equipment procurement.
  10. Design electrical systems including power, lighting, and grounding (typical voltage levels: 480VAC, 277VAC, 120VAC).
  11. Collaborate on electrical drawings such as Single Line Diagrams, Power Panel Schedules, Lighting Plans, and Motor Control diagrams.
  12. Specify and purchase low voltage power distribution equipment.
  13. Assist with startup testing and respond to electrical contractor inquiries.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (required).
  • 7+ years of engineering and project management experience (required).
  • Experience with electrical power systems, instrumentation, and controls (required).
  • Proven success in managing small to medium capital projects.
  • Proficiency in SAP software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the National Electrical Code.
  • Ability to develop work scopes and organize tasks.
  • Experience with extrusion and/or film lines is a plus but not required.
  • Advanced skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, etc.

  • Salary range: $100,000 - $120,000, depending on experience and location.
