Role Overview

As a Principal Electrical Engineer, you will lead electrical engineering efforts within EPC projects, overseeing development of design deliverables, specifications, proposals, and schedules. You will operate with minimal oversight, manage project execution, collaborate across teams, and provide technical leadership, design optimization, and mentorship.

Responsibilities

  1. Lead electrical engineering design activities ensuring compliance with standards and project criteria, optimizing for constructability and efficiency.
  2. Review and approve engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications, ensuring quality and compliance.
  3. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and integrate electrical solutions into overall project workflows.
  4. Supervise and mentor engineers and designers, providing technical guidance and oversight.
  5. Support departmental operations, resource management, and strategic planning.

Required Skills and Experience

  1. Extensive experience in industrial and power plant electrical design, including medium and low voltage systems, power generation, distribution, lighting, grounding, and protective relaying.
  2. Proficiency in industry codes (NEC, IEEE, NEMA, NFPA, NETA Std.), and experience with Class I and II areas.
  3. Strong project management skills across the EPC lifecycle, with experience in feasibility, engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
  4. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Microstation, SKM, and ETAP software.
  5. Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, PE license, and 12+ years of detailed engineering experience.

Physical and Other Requirements

  • Ability to perform physical and mental tasks necessary for the role, including reading complex documents, reasoning, and decision-making.

Compensation

The wage range for this role is $136,400 - $204,600, with final offers based on experience and location.
