JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position is responsible for maintaining a high level of quality and consistency in the timely preparation, production, and service of meals served to residents, guests, and employees. This position is responsible for the sanitation of the work area and for the safe and sanitary handling of food, supplies, and equipment.

All South Carolina programs offer highly individualized treatment provided by a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, psychiatrists, therapists and direct support professionals. South Carolina offers a continuum of services to meet individual needs and is CARF accredited.

Schedule & Location: Full-time, Day Shift, located in Simpsonville, SC.

Job Type: This is a fully onsite role that is not eligible for remote work.

JOB DUTIES:

• Prepare and serve food to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Plan an appropriate cooking schedule to have meals ready on time.
• Prepare food according to menu selection.
• Follow all current sanitation and food safety procedures including personal hygiene, monitoring and documentation of temperatures, and food storage including labeling and dating.
• The cook will ensure the kitchen follows the regulations per HFS83 and the city license.
• An ability to handle a variety of tasks and responsibilities in a professional and prompt manner.
• Must possess good interpersonal skills.
• Superior customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently organizing their own schedule and duties.
• Planning and organizational skills, Initiative, and the ability to follow through are essential.
• Demonstrates flexibility and patience in understanding the needs of the clients we serve.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year cooking experience in a restaurant, health care facility or similar.
• Ability to pass a background check including drug screen.
