Arthrex is a global medical device company and a leader in new product development and medical education in orthopedics. Arthrex Manufacturing is actively searching for a Supervisor. This position will be located at the new Arthrex manufacturing facility in Pendleton, SC. The hours for this position are Day Shift (8am to 5pm Monday-Friday).
This position involves the assembly and testing of medical products and related packaging. Therefore, the work is performed in a clean room environment. Employees who work in clean rooms have a gowning process which includes wearing a hair net, lab coat and booties over shoes. Employees who work in clean rooms may not wear makeup, jewelry, perfumes, hair gels, fake eyelashes, fake nails, etc.
Main Objective:
Designs, delivers, and evaluates learning and development programs and services. Supervises all of Arthrex's Manufacturing training needs under the supervision of the Manufacturing Operations Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Analyzes needs, develops, and administers budget and staffing recommendations establishes learning objectives, designs, develops, markets, and delivers training programs and other learning and development services, and specialized workshops supporting Arthrex Manufacturing.
• Acts as a lead consultant to overall manufacturing regarding learning and development needs and specialized workshops supporting manufacturing.
• May be Responsible for the ongoing certification of the Arthrex Manufacturing Apprentice Program, as well as program implementation and development.
• Responsible for the daily supervision and activities of any technical manufacturing supervisors or trainers and any assigned administrative personnel.
• Researches alternative learning delivery methods such as computer-based and satellite training programs. Recommends and implements programs which will meet Arthrex Manufacturing's learning and development needs. Works with appropriate business areas to implement and test technology. Markets programs and reviews utilization records and participant evaluations.
• Delivers train-the-trainer programs for division, department and job-specific trainers as identified throughout the organization.
• Identifies and implements competency models and recommends and delivers integrated learning and development tools and programs.
• May reviews vendor training programs and materials; makes recommendations for purchasing new programs and conducts these programs upon request.
• Participates in other strategic initiatives and assumes additional responsibilities as requested.
• Oversees the production and development of course materials and Promotional Guidelines.
• Responsible for development of class curriculums and schedules.
• Creates a database and reports to track class attendance and program certification.
• Evaluates current training programs for web-based training potential. Work with the creator of the program to map out migration or development path.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree required preferably in Business, Quality, Training and Development, Education, or related field. Masters preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years as a Learning and Development Specialist in a manufacturing environment
• Proven track record of establishing and working with different manufacturing departments developing and implementing training based on needs analyst.
• Establishing and working with a state recognized apprenticeship program preferred.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and interact effectively with at all organizational levels.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to teach/instruct a multitude of technical classes. When instructing/teaching must have the ability to engage the participants and maintain an appropriate professional learning environment.
Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:
High level of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Expertise in Swiss Turn, Quality, Milling and Injection Molding machines a plus.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to comprehend and apply mathematical principles to the degree required to perform the job based upon job requirements.
Language and Communication Skills:
Ability to comprehend and apply language skills to the degree required to perform the job based upon the job requirements listed above. Ability to verbally communicate ideas and issues effectively to other team members and management. Ability to write and record data and information as required by procedures.
