Job Title: Light Equipment Operator

Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma or Equivalent

2. 5 years work related experience

3. Ability to lift 50 lbs. on a routine basis

4. Work with limited supervision

5. Valid South Carolina CDL Class A Drivers License Reports To: This person is directly responsible to the Master Foreman Job Goal: To perform professional lawn care and other general grounds related maintenance at district facilities.

Performance Responsibilities:

1. Ability to operate farm type tractors

2. Ability to operate commercial grade wide area mowers up to 120" cut

3. Ability to operate other large grounds equipment

4. Ability to operate weed eaters, leaf blowers, backpack sprayer, hedge trimmer

5. Ability to properly, and safely operate a chainsaw and pole saw

6. Ability to use herbicides properly

7. Ability to use a wide variety of hand tools

8. Ability to operate a wide variety of power tools

9. Ability to properly maintain equipment and make minor repairs

10. Ability to repair chain-link fences and signs

11.Ability to repair playground equipment

12.Ability to perform athletic field maintenance

13.Ability to carry out detailed assignments without supervision

14.Ability to lend some supervision of others

15.Follow safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal protective equipment

16.Availability for duty in the event of inclement weather or after hours emergencies

17.Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Terms of Employment: Twelve Months with salary in Maintenance/Security/Warehouse Hourly Rate Schedule, GRADE N
