Shipping Clerk - 2nd Shift

Description:

PL Developments, also known as PLD, is a leading manufacturer, packager, and distributor of over-the-counter (OTC) pharmaceutical products and consumer healthcare goods.

SUMMARY:

The Shipping Clerk is responsible for managing the shipping and receiving operations of the warehouse. This role involves creating shipping documents, coordinating
outbound schedules, and ensuring orders are shipped accurately and on time. The position requires operating various warehouse equipment such as reach trucks and forklifts, and maintaining excellent math and computer skills for inventory management and shipping transactions. The clerk must also have basic knowledge of transportation logistics and the ability to work independently to handle daily shipping tasks efficiently.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 1:30pm-10pm
Training Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30am-5pm (For two weeks)


JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • 2- 5 years of experience in warehouse and shipping operations is required.
  • Must be able to operate a reach truck, sit down forklift, stock picker, electric jack and swing reach.
  • Proficiency in operating various warehouse equipment, including reach trucks, sit-down forklifts, stock pickers, electric jacks, and swing reach trucks.
  • Strong mathematical and computer skills.
  • Basic understanding of transportation and logistics.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prepare bill of ladings and all required shipping documents.
  • Ship small packages using the FedEx computer system.
  • Coordinate daily outbound schedules to ensure timely trailer loading.
  • Enter information for ASN creation and label printing according to customer specifications.
  • Maintain knowledge of customer shipping requirements, route guides, and delivery windows.
  • Calculate shipping dates based on carrier transit times, destination, and customer due dates.
  • Perform shipping transactions using the packing workbench and transaction forms, consolidating and creating deliveries as needed, releasing orders, and printing packing slips.
  • Assist with claim investigations and audits.
  • Load and unload trucks.
  • Coordinate all carrier pickups.
  • Conduct inventory inquiries and generate inventory reports.
  • Verify sales orders for accuracy.
  • Perform open and closing procedures for building as needed.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring repetitive motion and bending
  • Must be able to bend, reach, twist, grasp items, lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs. Anything above 50 lbs. requires secondary assistance.
